Built to be used by everyone.
People come to CourtClarity during some of the hardest weeks of their lives, often on a phone, sometimes with a disability, always under pressure. Accessibility is not a feature we add at the end. It is part of being usable at all.

Conformance target
CourtClarity is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act for web content. We review the public site and the platform tools against that standard and fix what falls short.
Keyboard access
Every link, button, menu, and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content, and focus is always visible.
Screen reader support
Pages use real headings, landmarks, labels, and lists rather than visual-only markup. Menus announce whether they are open, form fields are tied to their labels, and status messages are announced when they change.
Readable contrast
Body text, labels, and interface controls meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast minimums, including teal text on our dark navy surfaces. Information is never conveyed by color alone.
Zoom and reflow
Layouts reflow without loss of content at 200% zoom and on narrow mobile screens, and text can be enlarged through browser settings rather than a fixed pixel size.
Motion control
If your device requests reduced motion, automatic animations and carousel rotation stop. The carousel can also be paused or stepped through manually at any time.
Clear forms
Every field has a persistent visible label, required fields are marked in text, and errors and confirmations are announced to assistive technology rather than shown only in color.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you where we are not yet finished than claim a standard we have not fully met. These are the areas we are actively working on.
- Documents you upload — court orders, screenshots, letters — are processed as-is. If a source document is an image without text, its contents may not be available to a screen reader. We are working toward accessible text extraction for uploaded files.
- Third-party checkout is handled by Stripe on their own pages. We do not control the accessibility of that flow, though Stripe publishes its own accessibility conformance work.
- Downloadable PDF reports are generated from your records. We are improving tagging and reading order in those exports; until then, the same information is available on screen in each tool.
- Guided AI conversations produce plain text answers. They are optimized for clarity, but they are not a substitute for reading the underlying record, and they are not reviewed by an attorney.
Tell us if something is in your way
If any part of CourtClarity is difficult to use — with a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, voice control, or anything else — tell us what happened and what you were trying to do. We will respond, and where the problem is in our product, we will fix it. If you need information from this site in a different format, ask and we will provide it.
